Doc Ep 2 S3 Ready or Not
A teen driving his family car gets into an accident, crashing the car into a deer and severely injuring his parents and sister. The father has antlers buried in his chest making surgery difficult. The sister and mother are barely hanging on. Everyone on staff works to save the family, yet personal issues and past angers threaten the lives of the patients.
While the medical problems presented each episode remain intriguing, I feel this season is leaning a bit more into soap opera rather than medical drama.
Best Medicine Ep2 S2 Breakin’ In Is Hard To Do
There are several storylines this week. The town pharmacy, Doc’s Office and the Salty Breeze all have thefts, with puzzling items being stolen. Martin tries to put together what injury might be treated given what has disappeared.
A Pizza Food Truck sets up shop just at the edge of the Salty Breeze parking lot causing chaos.
Townies have Martin rush to the Salty Breeze to help with an incident, only to find a bloody mess that momentarily brings out his blood phobia. It’s a prank that’s supposed to be hilarious, but it makes Martin question why he is staying in Port Wenn at all. His friend Eden seizes upon this and encourages him to come back to Boston.
Lanterns Finale
It’s a slow episode, oddly. There’s a bit of tidying up leaving Sinestro behind on the portal world.
John is able to figure out who killed Hal. Hal was right, it was Kerry, who wanted to protect her son Noah.
Noah is an interesting conundrum. He wants his current life of family and football, but can also see a path for himself to the halls of power where he could conquer everything and everyone.
Sinestro made a lantern for Noah who kidnapped him from OA and trapped him on Anton’s world. Noah wanted revenge for his grandmother’s death, and wanted to be able to kill Guardians if he needed to.
John ends up with the Lanternmade by Sinestro and Hal’s ring. Once he charges the ring, Halogram, who has been a much better companion than real Hal, will be gone forever. He’s reluctant to lose him.
Calling in Guy Gardner, John tells him to deliver a message to the Guardians. John is Earth’s Guardian now and Gardner has the rest of the sector. Guy’s not happy! He promises an army of Lanterns coming to confront John (that is, in fact, what should happen). John is confident he will get his wish. Did John do this so he could protect his family, Kerry and Noah, and keep Sinestro imprisoned? Why else? It doesn’t seem to me to be an appropriate super hero way, using his power to serve his own needs.
Great British Baking Show Biscuit Week
The first challenge was “American Style Cookies”, though the cookies were much more elaborate than the typical cookie.
Teeny Frosted Iced Gems were the Technical Challenge.
Mosaics created from biscuits were the show stoppers. The overall Star Baker was Tom, who did not finish his sloppy looking show stopper. Some weeks the judges just don’t get it right. Going home was the delightfully daffy Danni. Danni is a vegan, and didn’t taste her own creations as she made them, so she was somewhat doomed.
The show continues to be a balm.
