 Here’s my stack of Christmas Murder Mysteries.  There’s one book which is coming later this month for some reason, pictured separately.  I hope to have them all read and reviewed by December 31st. Could happen!

Banned Books Week

Every year we look at the books which have been banned, removed or requested for removal from libraries everywhere. 

We often put up displays of these books and everyone is fascinated, and can't believe that the very books they enjoy reading and that their kids love are the most targeted by someone, someplace who wants to have a say in what others read.

One year I put up a display of the books and decorated it with a roll of that Do not cross: police line tape.  Someone was offended by that! 

Read read read, everyone!  Let your children read what engages their hearts, minds and imaginations and don't personally ban them from enriching themselves.

How Many Caldecott Winners Have You Read?

 

 

 

 

I always feel as if it should be doable and pleasant to read all of the Caldecott and Newbery Award Winners because they're short and fun.   I think I boldy put reading all of the Caldecott's on my job here's-what-I should-do-to-improve-myself Individual Development Plan for the year.  Never made it through.  Never got mentioned on my review.  Needer.  The awards are given out each January so this list is hovering in my mind once more.
