Garden Inspirations

I need to save some of these to read later.

Sort of garden-y.

I like the brick edging, all of the eclectic pots, and those decor pieces on the tree.

This old bed frame is painted a perfect green for the garden.  It's a lovely trellis.

She truly is the Guru.  I'd love big windows and plants everywhere.

Sunday Dreaming: Inspirations

From All America Selections, a list of pollinator attracting plants for your garden:

I'm trying the celery, but there are a few plants you can sprout and plant in your garden from your kitchen.  It's a good time to try them out!

Another pretty use for a clay pot.

My basil last season suffered from some unseasonable cool nights.   I planted it in the ground and it sort of withered away.  Back into pots this season!

I haven't picked a rose to grow yet this season.  Isn't this lovely?

There was actually SNOW on the ground this morning so I didn't get my potatoes started.  Very discouraging!

Sunday Dreaming: Inspirations This Week

It's the one month anniversary of this blog, known in the biz as it's Blogiversary!  My original Librariandoa Blog began February 15, 2008.   I always forget to give it a Blogiversary post, but this year, I shall give it it's due.

Thanks to my (two) readers for hanging in there!  I'm having more fun with this blog than I expected.   As I've mentioned, I had a goal for a post a day for the first month, and I'll likely keep that going, but if I miss one, I won't feel guilty!

I bought Jiffy Seed Starting mix this week so I will have some seedlings to show soon.  Things generally sprout for me much faster than the packet says when grown under lights.   February really is the best time to start the seeds that take a long time to get going, many flowers, many herbs are that way.

In the years when I have seeds going, I cannot be brought down by the coldest temperatures or biggest snowstorms outside because inside, it is spring.

Wayside Gardens has this lovely photo of their Caladium varieties all together.  I never think to place them by each other, they make such a statement on their own.  This is very striking though.

Do you think cacti are adorable but you hate getting poked by them?  Ta da, rock cactus!

If you love papercrafting or botanical drawings, a site called the Graphics Fairy has ten pieces of PINK botanical clip art this week for you to use.

P. Allen Smith speaks my language, that language being Pink :)

Gardening Soul: 23 Insanely Clever Gardening Ideas on Low Budget

There are lots of useful tips and ideas in this post.

My three favorites:

Honestly, shoe organizers are great for organizing other things as well, such as crafting supplies,  but this might really work and be great.   You could hang it anywhere and move it as needed to get the right amount of sun.

This is pretty brilliant.  It's always hard for me to get the soil in a bed all nice and perfectly level when planting seeds, this would take care of that, flattening an entire area equally.

The small albums are nice for a refined subject, and perfectly sized for this method of seed organization.
