 We are back! I’ve got this weeks and next weeks Five Things all set. The trick is to pre-write and pre-schedule as much as possible. Then the show goes on even if you’re busy or feeling crummy.  Fall forward!

Five Things Friday 9/4/26

 I love September! I’m ready to start putting the garden to bed.  I want to bake, bake, bake.  I’m ready to get my Halloween decorations out, and to comb the stores for new things, especially for outside.

Five Things Friday 8/21/26

 A few cool days and how easy it is to ease towards fall and winter.  While the official Dog Days are over, we aren’t fooled, are we?  Keep those ice cube trays full!

Five Things Friday 8/7/26

 August always makes me think of the Dog Days of August when the summer weather is at its hottest, and the humidity is unbearable, and people lose their minds a bit.  As it turns out, there are The Dog Days of Summer to reckon with, from July 3rd to August 11th.  That explains a lot about this particular summer, doesn’t it? I’m hopeful then that August 12th brings a turn towards cool autumn breezes, less humidity, and reasonable heat.

Book Notes April 19, 2022

 From Bon Appetit, the 13 Best Cookbooks of 2022 (So Far).  I love these lists around Christmas in case I want to ask for one as a gift.  What would my mother in law say? Shop early and often.
