 I love September! I’m ready to start putting the garden to bed.  I want to bake, bake, bake.  I’m ready to get my Halloween decorations out, and to comb the stores for new things, especially for outside.

 Ah, spring is in the air. March is going to be jam packed for us at DOA Central. I’m hoping for some nice outside time. Don’t jinx me, now.

The eternal question “What makes us human” answered at last!

Forget about last week’s grenade. Get yourself a phone book somehow and let our friends at The Art of Manliness show you how to tear that baby in half.

We haven’t had any stylin’ suitcases for awhile. How about this adorable little dolls house?

Our dogs don’t like us to be out of their site, especially the big girl who is a mix. If constant adoration isn’t for you, try one of these breeds.

 There we go, February gone in a trice. Not a bad month, unless you were anyone at all.

Thankfully, The Art Of Manliness is here for you in case things really go south.

Best hope it’s just grenades and not a saucer attack!

Forget all of that, and work on your trip planning for Route 66. Don’t forget to stop for fudge.

It has been a very cold winter. The tiniest pup can give off the most heat, so hope on these cold nights your chihuahua chooses to sleep by you, not your spouse.

I bet it’s only me guessing the correct word starts with an F.

There’s something about this picture that really captures what a great time these women were going to have on their Sunday drive. 

I saw the movie Them one summer night long ago and despite the hokey special effects, it really scared me. Maybe the way they moved or the sound they made.

Book Notes April 26, 2022

You'll remember my nice big stack of April Books I meant to read.  I did well, but did not get everything read. Here is the pile I did read, oops Diamond Eye should be in the pile.

 

I'm also now out of sync reading a classic a month--I'm a bit of the way into The Prince and the Pauper but...not going to be ready for an April post.

I also somehow missed the fourth Trixie Belden, likely because when I was picking out five to read earlier this year, there was only a Kindle copy or a used book version.  I don't care for either, but I'll pick up The Mysterious Visitor for May on Kindle.

Nancy Drew, which I got as a Christmas gift in a set of five I'm up to date on.

I'm secretly one behind on my Poirots, good thing nobody reads this stuff or someone may have caught it. 

Diamond Eye can count as a historical, I'm certain.  I've now read two, one in January and one this month, and haven't noted them on the Historical reading challenge site.

I had purchased Fires of Heaven and Lord of Chaos in the Wheel of Time Series, and meant to just have them tucked on the shelf. Instead I zoomed through Fires of Heave, which was a real page turner somehow, and then I had to just peek at Lord of Chaos, and of course I'm a quarter of the way in.

I can't be trusted and will not be purchasing the next two, nope, not till I'm a bit caught up on other reading.

Book Notes February 15, 2022

 If you've binged or have even just begun Amazon Prime's Reacher series, you'll be glad to know a season 2 is coming!

How nice to be out of college, not worrying about papers or grades or pop quizzes.

I really should read a Jane Austen book sometime.
