Welcome back to Tuesday Book Notes, where I post bookish news, humor and new books to look for. I've finished all of my "scheduled reading" for the month, except for the Poirot (because I need to dig it out of my TBR shelf).
Currently I'm reading The Bangalore Detectives Club by Harini Nagendra. Set in 1920s Bangalore, the amateur detective in the making Kaveri Murthy is a real charmer. She's newly married and loves her husband, but, well, a murder certainly does make life interesting, doesn't it?

Since we're going to Bouchercon this year, I had a chance to suggest titles for the Anthony Awards. These are for literary mysteries, so the field of initial choices was not just any mystery you liked from the following year. I was thrilled to be nominating, but was disappointed that none of my choices for Best Novel or First Novel made it through to the full list. Also, my top choice for YA/Children's didn't make it, but several other choices did.
Speaking of awards, here are the International Thriller Writers award Winners:
I love my book mark collection. I try to keep a bunch near everywhere I read so I don't end up using "other things". I do use the pretty ones I buy, though I'm cautious with any that have tassles because they are certain Cat Attractors.
