Book Notes October 4, 2021

Novel Suspects shares the Highest Rated Stephen King Novels "according to Goodreads".

 https://www.novelsuspects.com/book-list/highest-rated-stephen-king-books-according-to-goodreads/

Of the five they list, two would be on my personal favorites list.   The Shining and The Stand.  Neither have been well adapted for film or television, in my opinion.  The novels themselves are great, intense, scary books.

My top five:

Salem's Lot

The Stand

Cujo

The Shining

Pet Sematary

My other favorites:

The collections Different Seasons and Night Shift, The Tommyknockers, It, The Dead Zone, The Dark Half, Doctor Sleep.

Though the list is from 2019, Murder & Mayhems Historical Mystery list has a few novels for me to jot down in my ever growing Consider Reading This List.

The Mustaches!

The dire predictions of book shortages and supply line problems goes on.  Rose Levy Beranbaum's The Cookie Bible now has a publication date of fall 2022.  Yikes.

A new blog I added to the Blogroll has a feature where he lists what he plans/hopes to read each month.  Stealing his idea:

Librariandoa's October Books To Read

King's Cage Victoria Aveyard (already started reading)

Road of Bones by James R Benn

Death in the Clouds by Agatha Christie

Credible Threat by J A Jance (Book Group)

The Last Graduate Naomi Novik

Cold Blooded Myrtle by Elizabeth C. Bunce
