Garden Weeding and Reorganization

 I’m in the middle of a large garden weeding and reorganization project. Results vary. It will be a challenge this next week with temps in the high nineties. 

Here are today’s garden highlights and low lights.

Welcome July!

 

July is True Summer. Time for picnics, fireworks, getting on that bike and riding! The garden is still in need of heavy weeding and watering to keep it going in this heat and drought. Time to reconfigure old gardens and move plants into new beds. 

All our lilacs have been hit by whatever virus/ disease is decimating lilacs (that formerly absolutely reliable shrub). We will need to take almost all out. Ouch. The arborvitae on our southern border are at or near the end of their life span so we need to put in something new to replace them.

Enjoy the month. Have a barbecue. Roast those marshmallows!
