Traveling Tuesday September 21, 2021

Scamping

So you've got your Scamp on order and you're planning your trip.  Where to stay during your travels?  You know the area and how long you want to stay.

You're very wise so you want Pull Through camp sites for your Scamp so you don't need to back that baby up.  Even if you spent a summer one year hauling firewood in a trailer and were good at swinging that trailer into any spot you needed to park in.

At the library, people were fiendish about these HUGE paperback behemoth guides to campgrounds we carried.

They may still have them at the library.

You can plan from your cozy chair in this scintillating age of information.

On our Scamp trip a few years ago, we stayed at three very different campgrounds.  A new, top of the line resort that I'll always compare every campground to, a County Park Campground, and a KOA.

Let's look at what a couple of sites say about my Favorite, Treeland Farm RV Park out side of Hayward WI.

Campground Reviews gives you all the basic information plus reviews by those who have stayed there.

Goodsam has a more limited approach to RV Park Info, but it has all you really need.

When I was planning, there was a really good site that I'm not finding today.  It kind of gave "The Scoop" on campgrounds, and I was tempted to leave reviews of the three places we stayed on it.

Fabulous Fridays:

What do you do when one person would really like to see a place, but the other person just does not in any way want to visit that place?  Ideally, to me, the travelers would take turns picking out a place, and they'd respect the other person's choice.

This week's adventure, I think, will be planned by Mr. DOA.  Then by the next round I'll have some ideas.  I'm in the mood for a nice little touristy town, like Taylor's Falls was.  Walking trails nearby are always a plus.  We shall see what Mr. Big finds for us this time around.
