So much for traveling. Our outings have evolved for the nonce into Dog Park days. Since one of our goals in getting out and taking the Beagle along was to socialize the little bean, we've hit the jackpot with the dog park. A mix of dogs every time and doggie dispositions. We're enjoying it, and it gives us the extra exercise we need, oof.
I've decided to do a highlighted version of our Route 66 trip here. I was all ready to begin tonight with an intro but of course I have put the materials and maps somewhere. I'm only finding Kansas and Missouri tonight. Just in case, and because by God we will be doing this trip again, as it was just about the best vacation ever, I ordered another set of the Route 66 Bible as we know it:
These are maps of each state along the Route, with turn by turn instructions for following the parts of Route 66 that still exist, and instructions for re-connecting with the Route when you get to sections that no longer exist.
Every type of road surface imaginable is to be experienced. You're thinking paved or dirt, but there are variations of paved and dirt you can't comprehend unless you're wending your way along.
From Chicago, Illinois to Santa Monica, California there are a wealth of Roadside Attractions to be found like treasures.
One of us would drive, the other would navigate using the map and looking at any and all road signs to keep us on the path. The navigator job is very nerve wracking!
